Eamonn Galldubh Eamonn Galldubh – uilleann piper Éamonn Galldubh is an All-Ireland champion with a teaching diploma from Comhaltas Ceoltóirί Éireann as well as a Maters degree in Music Performance with First Class Honours. He learned the traditional piping technique from Dublin pipers Ivan Goff and Mick O’Brien. The Bleeding Pig Cultural Festival is delighted to welcome The Exploration Dome for a return visit to the Parish Hall, Donabate on Sunday 15th September. The Exploration Dome brings you astronomy shows in the mobile Planetarium. The Planetarium is a blacked-out dome with 360° projection inside bringing the Universe to your doorstep!

The Astronomy shows and full Dome films are suitable for all ages and are projected throughout the inner surface of the Dome to fully envelop the audience.

Hidden away in North Dublin, is Portrane’s lovingly restored Martello Tower & Gardens. Explore two centuries of history encased in 8ft thick stone walls built to withstand maritime attack by Napoleon. Experienced guide Bryan Greene gives tour. Tour starts at 11.00 am sharp.

Please wear appropriate footwear and clothing.

Church of Ireland tours.

Venue: Church of Ireland, The Square, Donabate.
Date and time: Sun, 15th. September. 2.30 3.30

The only remnant of that first stone church, and the monastic community buildings that once existed around it, is the square tower, which served as its watch tower and belfry.
Today a church that was built in the late 17th century and extended in the 18th century stands on the site. As you can see, one unusual feature of the present church is the sundial above the church door.

The Bleeding Pig Film Festival is back for its sixth edition from Monday 16th to Wednesday 18th of September. This year's venue is the popular St. Patricks Church of Ireland in The Square. The film festival is facilitated and supported by Bleeding Pig Cultural Festival and managed and programmed by Emma Fagan who runs “Fillum” a company which promotes Irish independent filmmakers.  Emma has commented that her aim for the film festival is “to bring independent cinema to the local community of Donabate and surrounding areas and to facilitate open discussion between filmmakers and audiences”.  This year's film schedule will feature two[Read more...]

Robert Shaw – Born in Dublin – 1964   robertshaw.ie
Shaw trained at the Dun Laoghaire School of Art and Design in the late nineteen eighties. He is native of Malahide, a coastal village north of Dublin city. Shaw’s studio was for nine years situated high on the most easterly point of Howth head.
